Nico Siragusa

Guard, San Diego State

Losing T.J. Lang is a huge loss for the Green Bay Packers. They don’t really have anyone to fill in for him. In the fourth round, they’ll find someone who might be able to replace him full-time in Nico Siragusa. He played a huge part in San Diego State’s offense and is an excellent run blocker. Siragusa lacks the ideal frame of a guard, but his athleticism should be an asset to the Packers.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and 319 pounds, he relies a lot on his pure power. Siragusa can outmuscle a lot of guys. He’s also explosive and is coming out of a system that required him to be mobile. Siragusa blocked for the NCAA’s career rushing yards leader.

However, his pass blocking is still a work in progress. This could be a concern for Siragusa, but his run blocking likely makes him a candidate to start right away. Especially if the Green Bay Packers want to get their running game more involved. Siragusa will be a work in progress, but his constant improvement in pass blocking is encouraging. He should be able to make an impact and potentially start in Week 1. The Packers have other options to start, but there’s no reason to think Siragusa wouldn’t be able to earn the starting job.
