Pitchers

Chris Sale $11400

Last season, Sale had 233 strikeouts in 226.2 innings pitched. In his career, Sale has 1244 strikeouts in 1110 innings pitches. He averages over one strikeout per inning pitched, which is a fantasy gold mine, and he has the experience to pitch past the tough spots. Sale now finds himself in a city that lives and breathes baseball and he seems to be embracing it. When Sale steps out on the mound for the first time in a Red Sox jersey, he will be a dominate force more than ever before. ****

Jacob deGrom $9800

Last year, deGrom finished 1-1 with one no decision versus the Braves but only gave up four earned runs through the three games. He earned a quality start in each appearance and pitched past the sixth inning twice. The third time facing the Braves last season, deGrom dominated with eight innings pitched and zero earned runs. It appeared as if he improved each time he faced this team, so expect him to take control of this game early and not look back. ****

Cole Hamels $9300

Against the Indians last season, Hamels finished 1-0 with one no decision. In the first outing, Hamels gave up three earned runs, but still earned a quality start and pitched through seven innings. In the second game, Hamels dominated through eight innings pitched allowing only two hits, zero earned runs, and striking out eight batters. If he can throw anywhere close to the way he did throughout his two-hit performance, then he will be more than worth the investment. ***

Wily Peralta $6400

Peralta only faced the Rockies once last year at the end of the season, but it was at Colorado on Coors Field. Probably the toughest place to take the mound, Peralta handled himself superbly, only allowing five hits and zero runs through six innings pitched. If he can pitch like that again, but on his home field this time, he should have no problem carving through the Rockies lineup. **
