2017 NFL Mock Draft: Jets, Browns land quarterbacks
By Brad Weiss
The Buffalo Bills had to make a decision at quarterback this offseason, and some believed they would actually have to draft one with the No. 10 overall pick. Well, Tyrod Taylor restructured his contract to stay with the team, and first-year head coach Sean McDermott will have a very good starter in 2017. Taylor has been very consistent under center for the Bills in his short career, but the team needs to bring in some weapons around him.
The team lost Robert Woods to free agency, making the wide receiver position a priority this draft season. Mike Williams of Clemson is the best player at that position in this draft, and would team well with a very inconsistent Sammy Watkins in Buffalo. With LeSean McCoy in the backfield, the Bills should be able to move the ball next season, but only if they bring in some more talent on the outside.
Williams proved during the Clemson Tigers’ national title win that he is a winner, fighting off what looked to be a nasty injury to star in the team’s upset win. While he is not the fastest player in this draft, he does have the best hands, and is not afraid to go over the middle. The Bills could make a run towards a Wild Card in 2017, but the lack of star power on the offensive side of the ball has to be alarming.
