12. The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar – WrestleMania XXX

This match probably shouldn’t be this high on the list but the surprise factor jumped it up a couple of spots. As I mentioned earlier, I still think The Undertaker looked better in his match with Bray Wyatt than he did here but this at least had a big fight feel to it, and while nobody actually thought it would happen, it at least felt like Lesnar had a chance to break the streak.

I think once this match got going it could have been and was supposed to be better but The Undertaker getting the concussion really put a damper on what he could do out there. I still think it happened when Lesnar picked him up by the leg and slammed him down, and that would make sense as he hit really hard there. And let’s face it — he was already getting up there in age before and was able to put on some great matches but his age really showed up here against a guy like Lesnar. But kudos to Lesnar for calling the rest of the match against a veteran like The Undertaker, and more kudos to The Undertaker for at least trying to continue.

Lesnar was in control for a while but The Undertaker came back with some of his signatures for some pretty good near falls but Lesnar came roaring back with an F5 and a slam out of Hell’s Gate. Lesnar then applied the Kimura Lock but ‘Taker slapped on one of his own and Lesnar had to get to the ropes to break the hold. The Phenom went for “Old School” but Brock simply turned that into an F-5 in a very nice spot but could only get a two count in a great near fall that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. Lesnar hit a couple of German suplexes and tried the punches in the corner but ‘Taker countered with a powerbomb (come on, somebody watch some film of that) and a bad-looking Tombstone for two count. The Deadman went for another but Brock rolled through it and hit a third F-5 to become the first man in history to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania in a truly shocking moment. The match wasn’t that great but the finish will always be remembered and that at least deserved to be in the top half. 21-1.
