Justin Bour

1B,

The big fella for the Miami Marlins took a little while to get warmed up this season, but finally broke through in the team’s third game with a game-winning double against the Washington Nationals. The former Rule 5 Draft pick has been such a pleasant surprise for the Marlins, who will need his big bat to produce if they hope to make a run in the NL East. Bour has the kind of power that can carry a lineup, and if he stays healthy, he could hit 30 bombs.

Giancarlo Stanton and Bour both missed time due to injury last season, so having them both in the lineup everyday is going to help manager Don Mattingly. Bour has the kind of pop that can be plugged in as the starter at first base in fantasy baseball, though he is barely 20 percent owned in ESPN leagues. He is going to play against left-handers this season, so the days of him platooning are finally over.

Miami comes into the season with a heavy heart, after ace Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident late last season. They will have something to play for, and if Bour is in the lineup everyday, he could slash 30/100. That is serious production in fantasy baseball, so jump on him quick if he is still available in your league right now.
