Fantasy baseball: 25 players you need to claim
By Brad Weiss
Danny Espinosa made the move to the American League this season, and through a couple of games, it is certainly paying dividends for the Los Angeles Angels. Espinosa is shortstop eligible, which makes the fact that he can leave the yard even more special. He is hardly owned across all formats right now, but that is going to change if he continues to swing the bat the way he has been lately.
The Angles are going to put up runs, and Espinosa has the luxury of being in the same lineup as guys like Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. He is going to see his fair share of pitches, and he has not problem depositing them over the fence. He is going to do a nice job in home runs and runs batted in this season, and what he gives you in OPS far outweighs what you lose in batting average.
The move to the AL is also going to help him, as pitchers are not used to facing him. Last season, he hit 24 home runs in a Washington Nationals lineup that was one of the best in the National League. Playing in California is going to do him good, and by years end, he may be one of the more owned shortstops in fantasy baseball.
