1. J.T. Barrett’s poise

The Ohio State Buckeyes are only going to go as far as J.T. Barrett takes them this season. He’s by far the most experienced quarterback on the roster and has been through it all. However, his last performance didn’t leave a lasting impression.

There have been questions about whether or not he’s capable of being a top quarterback in college football and one that will push them to a National Championship. Despite this not being his first rodeo and having the keys to the offense, Barrett has just as much to prove as anyone else on the roster.

When the Ohio State offense came to a sudden halt last season, it really came to a stop. Barrett struggled at times and the 31-0 loss to Clemson in the College Football Playoff certainly brought the skeptics back out.

Meyer has had nothing but confidence in his quarterback and fully believes he can bring the program another National Championship. A strong spring game can go a long way for Barrett on Saturday.

It’s not going to drastically alter anyone’s opinion but a great performance will only serve him well. He’s got plenty of pressure on him this year and it’s the ultimate opportunity for him to redefine himself as a quarterback.
