Pitchers

Max Scherzer $10900 The Cardinals have the lowest implied run total overall today and Scherzer strikes out his opponents 31 percent of the time. There is not much to dislike about this matchup as Scherzer should dominate from every angle. The Cardinals themselves actually strike out 21 percent against right handed pitchers overall, so there should be plenty of fantasy points up for grabs. ****

Danny Salazar $9400 – The White Sox have the second lowest implied run total today as they also face another strike out machine in Salazar. The White Sox strike out 21 percent of the time against right handed pitchers and Salazar strikes out all of his opponents 28 percent of the time. Strike outs play a huge role in overall fantasy production and Salazar will be making batters whiff today. ***

John Lackey $9000 – Lackey has been holding right handed batters to an overall .262 average this year as well as a .304 average against left handed batters. He will be on the mound facing the Dodgers this evening, who have the fourth lowest implied run total of the day. Lackey strikes out a productive 24 percent of his opponents at the plate and will be looking to get his second win of the season. ***

Kyle Freeland $5600 – Freeland pitched six innings while striking out six and only allowed four hits with one earned run in his first start for the Colorado Rockies. He kept the Dodgers offense limited to a .190 batting average as a team and today he has the San Diego Padres on tap. The Padres have one of the highest strike out rates in the league against left handed pitchers at 25 percent and Freeland will be looking to take advantage of this less capable offense today. **
