First Base

High Salary Option

Joey Votto $3700 – Votto is off to a slow start according to batting average, hitting just .171 on the year with two home runs, four runs batted in, and six runs scored. However, there is nothing alarming about the situation, as Votto has fought himself out of early season slumps many times before. He gets a good matchup against the Brewers righty Jimmy Nelson and is in a great spot to start raising that average at home tonight. **

High Value Option

Mitch Moreland $2700 – Moreland is hitting .323 on the year with seven doubles and four runs scored. The Red Sox have the highest implied run total overall today and face the Pirates righty Chad Kuhl, who has allowed left handed batters to slash .364 off him. Moreland has a great chance to hit his first home run today, but even if he doesn’t he is bound to add to his six game streak of hitting a double. ****

Third Base

High Salary Option

Kris Bryant $4300 – The Cubs have one of the highest implied run totals on today’s slates and the Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu has allowed right handed batters to hit .429 off him. All of this added together seems to equal a big day for Bryant at the plate. He started off slow but has been working his way back to his current .250 average. The fact that he is slumping but is still averaging 11.20 fantasy points per game is warrant enough to play him today in a good matchup. ***

High Value Option

Mike Moustakas $2900 – The Moose has been ripping the seams off the ball so far this season, smashing three home runs and scoring five times. He has recorded at least one hit in every game this season except for one. The opposing pitcher, Athletics righty Jesse Hahn, has allowed left handed batters to slash .428 against him, so expect Moustakas to keep his bat hot tonight. ****
