 4. Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers were last sold in 2011 to billionaires Josh Harris and David Blitzer for $270 million. The value of the team has sky rocketed to $800 in just six years, so they’re definitely getting their money’s worth.

However, there has already been chatter before about the 76ers being sold. Back in 2015, there were rumors flying around that ownership had little interest in the 76ers, not to mention that they’ve been a dumpster fire for the past several years, and that the pair of owners had their minds set on bringing an NFL team to London.

Those rumors seemed to have been squashed by owner Josh Harris. Per the Philadelphia Inquirer, Harris said “I expect to be, and the ownership group expects to be, happily involved with the Philadelphia 76ers for many, many years to come.”

Obviously, that was two years ago and the team wasn’t sold, so Harris may just be telling the truth here. But, sometimes, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. If Harris and Blitzer did have other investment opportunities coming up, ‘flipping” the 76ers wouldn’t be the worst idea. As mentioned before, the team was valued at $800 million this year, which is on the lower side in terms of team valuation in the NBA. But, they’d still be able make out like kings, especially now that Philadelphia actually has a solid core of young talent on their roster.

Whether it comes up or not, it’s definitely a situation worth keeping an eye on.
