Second Round

42

Kevin King

Cornerback, Washington Huskies

Eventually, the Saints are going to figure it out in the secondary. They may still want to make another deal with the New England Patriots to land Malcolm Butler, but New Orleans needs to be proactive in how the Saints rebuild their secondary yet again.

One guy that could be a fit for them at No. 42 in the second round in Washington Huskies cornerback Kevin King. While Washington arrived a year early in the Pac-12 to win the conference and make the College Football Playoff, the Huskies will have a ton of players that can make an impact on 2017 NFL rosters.

Washington had dominant players in all layers of its defense. King is a riser up many team’s boards after a solid combine in Indianapolis and a terrific pro day at the University of Washington’s campus in Seattle.

The players coming out of Chris Petersen’s emerging Pac-12 powerhouse are NFL ready when they enter the draft. Maybe King can be the panacea the lousy Saints secondary has wanted to find for most of the last decade? Allen will at least hope King is an answer for them in the defensive backfield.
