WWE has provided an update on Roman Reigns’ condition following a vicious assault by Braun Strowman. It doesn’t sound like “The Big Dog” will be hunting anytime soon.

Roman Reigns should still be celebrating the biggest win of his career but it sounds like he’ll be out of action for quite some time — at least in storyline. Fresh off defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania, Reigns was in the middle of an interview with Michael Cole when Braun Strowman began a vicious attack on RAW this week.

WWE.com is reporting Reigns suffered a separated shoulder along with cracked ribs and other internal injuries. Along with throwing Reigns across the backstage area, Strowman also wheeled a stretcher carrying Reigns off a loading dock.

However, the highlight of Strowman’s attack was an impressive feat of strength as he tipped over an ambulance with Reigns still inside. The feat brought back Attitude-era memories of The New Age Outlaws throwing Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie into a dumpster before wheeling the dumpster off the WWE stage.

Fans were quick to point to Strowman receiving some assistance off-camera in getting the ambulance to tip over. However, considering Strowman is one of the strongest superstars on the roster, it’s not unfathomable to think “The Monster Among Men” could flip an ambulance over by himself.

The injuries reported are likely in storyline only. We’ve seen Reigns put his body through much worse and come out unscathed before. It’s WWE adding another wrinkle to an ongoing feud between the two men which has produced some of the hardest-hitting action in the squared circle. The WWE Universe has been abuzz about what this attack could mean for a future match between the two, with a last man standing bout one of the more popular opinions.

Payback, a RAW exclusive pay-per-view, is scheduled for April 30 and odds are we’ll see Reigns make a heroic return to the ring from his injuries. We’re used to seeing a WrestleMania hangover with the first PPV following ‘Mania but that shouldn’t be the case if Reigns and Strowman square off one more time.
