end of a streak this season as it’s the first time since 1999 that the franchise lost more than half of their games. Now, they’ll turn their attention to the future in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Strasbourg’s Frank Ntilikina could provide Dallas fans some relief. The 6-foot-5 guard is an enticing prospect because at his ceiling, he has the potential to be a lead guard who can run an offense and at his floor, he should at least be a useful 3-and-D shooting guard. In a landscape measured by expected outsides, having a high ceiling and a high floor should be viewed well.

Ntilikina is averaging 5.7 points and 1.6 assists in 17.6 minutes per game this season. He’s improved as a shooter, making 41.0 percent of his 3-point attempts while increasing his number of attempts. The 18-year old’s point guard credentials, though, rest on his performances in youth international competition where he’s shown himself capable of running plenty of pick-and-roll.

Ntilikina’s size makes him a great defensive prospect. He still needs to add strength, but he has the length to be a versatile defender. That size has translated to a 2.2 percent steal rate this season.
