Dalvin Cook

Running Back, Florida State Seminoles

Aaron Rodgers wanted Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson to reload this team. Once again, the Packers mostly punted in free agency to Rodger’s chagrin. So it’s up to Thompson to get it right in the upcoming NFL Draft. Where do the Packers go at No. 29 in the first round?

Ty Montgomery was an excellent running back with a jersey in the 80s, but the Packers need to get a bell-cow back that will fill the void of the Eddie Lacy bust. Look for the Packers to get an electric tailback in Dalvin Cook out of Florida State in latter part of the first-round.

Cook is like a hot knife through butter when he’s coming off tackle on a sweep. He has a physical component to his running style, but can also factor in pass protection and receiving out of the backfield. He’d be like a Todd Gurley for the Packers if they take him at No. 29.

The only real holdup with this pick is that Cook may end up getting into some trouble in sleepy Green Bay. Scouts have been somewhat trouble by the crowd he hangs with. He better be all football if he is going to the Packers. If Cook is all football, Green Bay will finally have a running back it can lean on like it did with Ahman Green well over a decade ago.
