The St. Louis Blues upset the Minnesota Wild with an overtime win in Game 1 of their first round series. Here’s how you can watch Friday’s Game 2.

Opening Night of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs featured two overtime games. The home team lost both of them, as the Minnesota Wild lost to the St. Louis Blues and the Edmonton Oilers lost to the San Jose Sharks. Of the two, the former is more surprising. They tied up the game with under a minute left thanks to a Zach Parise goal. However, Joel Edmundson scored 17 minutes into overtime to give the Blues an upset win.

Minnesota must regather themselves after a devastating Game 1 loss. They lost despite outshooting St. Louis 52-26, including 34-12 over the second and third periods. Devan Dubnyk played very well in net, stopping all but two of the 26 shots he faced. Minnesota must get better shots off in Game 2 while keeping up the pressure they put on the Blues in Game 1. If they keep dominating possession like they did on Wednesday, they should be fine.

St. Louis has to feel good about getting the overtime win. However, they didn’t play their best hockey and they’ll tell you this. The Blues got significantly outshot, which is not a good way to play in the postseason. They have some stuff to work on before Game 2 on Friday.

Game 2 should be an important game of the series. The Wild are looking to rebound after a disappointing loss. Meanwhile, the Blues are trying to send the series to St. Louis with a 2-0 lead. Friday should feature an excellent game with both teams laying it all on the line.
