Baylor Football Spring Game 2017: 5 things to watch for

4. Who will be the primary wide receiver target?
If there’s one thing about the Bears that’s been consistent the past few years, it’s that they’ve had stud wide receivers. Corey Coleman, K.D. Cannon, and Ish Zamora have been a big part of the Baylor offense. But now that they’re gone, and the team has gone through a total revamp, someone else has to step up. The Bears’ Spring Game could give fans a glimpse at who will be the next man up.
As of right now, Chris Platt stands a great chance to receive the most targets next season. Playing behind Cannon and Zamora last season, he caught 35 passes and scored four touchdowns. His yards per reception was 16.2, which was good for eighth in the Big 12.
This year, Platt must adjust to playing a bigger role, and with a new quarterback. Will he go back to handling kick returns too, like he did in his freshman year? Given the dearth of experience the Bears have at wide receiver, he might have to.
The Spring Game will give Platt his first test as a number one option. We’ll see if he can pass with flying colors, or if the coaches decide to take a committee approach with him and Blake Lynch.
