High Value SF

Jae Crowder, BOS vs CHI ($5800): Crowder had a relatively quiet Game 1 with nine points, eight rebounds and a steal. While below his season averages, his 20.6 fantasy points on Saturday weren’t far off the 22.5 that he produced the last time that he faced the Bulls. His expected value, therefore, may be a bit lower against the Bulls than his norm. **

Joe Johnson, UTA at LAC ($4600): Johnson exploded for 21 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and a blocked shot in 31 minutes to lead the Jazz over the Clippers in Game 1. This has not been Johnson’s usual role, but he has shown the ability to still score when called upon, such as the 34.5 fantasy point effort that he produced in 28 minutes against the Warriors last week. With Rudy Gobert out, it is possible that the Jazz game plan to continue to use Johnson as a focal point in Game 2, which would obviously be a benefit to his expected output. But, he also has disappeared after big games this season, so there is some reason to doubt. ***

Tony Snell, MIL at TOR ($3900): Snell scored 11 points with four rebounds and three assists for 20.3 fantasy points in Game 1, almost exactly the same as the 21 fantasy points that he scored in his last regular season game. However, before that game, there were six straight efforts between 4.2 and 14.7 fantasy points before you reach his next good game of 30.1 fantasy points. Snell is inconsistent, but he is priced barely above the minimum and thus has punt play with occasional starter upside capability. **
