FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – April 18
High Salary PF
Blake Griffin, LAC vs UTA ($8600): Griffin scored 26 points with seven rebounds, three assists and a steal in 43 minutes against the Jazz in Game 1. He was dominating the game early, but as has become his reputation he faded late. But, with Rudy Gobert not available to man the paint, Griffin has another chance at a good game on Tuesday. ***
Serge Ibaka, TOR vs MIL ($6000): Ibaka scored 19 points with 14 rebounds and three blocks against the Bucks in Game 1. This was certainly a good game for Ibaka, but he’s had success pretty consistently against the Bucks this season, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could repeat the performance. His more realistic expected value is likely in the low 30s of fantasy points. ***
High Value PF
Derrick Favors, UTA at LAC ($5200): Favors will be starting at center for the Jazz on Tuesday, in place of the injured Rudy Gobert. Favors played extra minutes in Game 1, totalling 15 points with six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 32 minutes. Favors has been injured for most of the season and still lacks his characteristic explosiveness, but he stated before the playoffs that this is the most confident that he’s been in his knee all season. With the added responsibility, he could be in for a strong game relative to his price tag. ***
Bobby Portis, CHI at BOS ($5000): Portis had a breakout performance in Game 1, scoring 19 points with nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 29 minutes. Portis has shown signs of this sort of capability, as this is his third game of more than 31 fantasy points in his last seven outings. But, he has not exhibited much consistency, so it is risky to depend on him playing at that level in Game 2. It’s possible, but not guaranteed. ***
Nikola Mirotic, CHI at BOS ($4700): Mirotic was held to only four points and four rebounds in 19 minutes in Game 1. He entered Game 1 having produced at least 29.8 fantasy points in two straight games, and four of his last five. But, his production is generally inversely proportional to Bobby Portis, so as Portis exploded Mirotic sat. He is a reasonable bounce-back candidate in Game 2, but this is a volatile situation and not the most reliable in either direction. **
