Pitchers

High Salary Option

Clayton Kershaw $12900 – Kershaw has a great matchup against the Rockies today on his home field. He is averaging 44.00 fantasy points per game and has pitched past the sixth inning in every start this year. He is striking his opponents out 31 percent of the time while the Rockies strike out 23 percent of the time against left handed pitchers as a team. The last time Kershaw faced the Rockies he did not fare so well, however that start was at Coors Field so do not let it fool you, Kershaw is the clear top option on today’s slate. ****

Chris Archer $9300 – Archer is pitching very consistent so far this season averaging 40 fantasy points per game through three starts, and staying within five points of that average each game. He pitched past the seventh inning twice already this season and has only allowed five runs total. Archer is striking out his opponents 27 percent of the time and the Tigers strike out 21 percent of the time against right handed pitchers as a team. The Tigers also have the second lowest implied run total on the slate today, so Archer should not have to pitch with much resistance. ***

High Value Option

Robert Gsellman $6700 – Gsellman has not had the start to the season that the Mets expected when they named him the fifth and last starter on one of the best rotations in baseball. It seems like he continues to give up more and more runs each start, however do not let his past performances to be the only stats you base your opinions on. Gsellman knows how to make batters swing and miss, as he strikes out his opponents 23 percent and the Phillies strike out 23 percent of the time as well against right-handed pitchers. This is a good matchup for him to rebound and place himself on a better track, with a low price tag to make him an interesting play tonight. **

Catchers

High Salary Option

Buster Posey $3900 – Posey is averaging 10.35 fantasy points per game so far this season, even after sitting out with a concussion. He is batting .385 with one home run, two runs batted in, and four runs scored. He has a good matchup tonight against the Royals lefty Jason Vargas and will look to build off his injury riddled start to the season. **

High Value Option

Yasmani Grandal $2900 – Grandal has hit safely in each of his last four starts and gets a favorable matchup tonight against the Rockies lefty Tyler Anderson and his 8.59 earned run average. He has not launched any balls over the walls since Opening Day, which makes him due for a long shot tonight. As far as the options go at catcher this evening, Grandal is one of the better plays. ***
