High Salary C

Marc Gasol, MEM vs SA ($7100): Gasol was a monster with 44 fantasy points in 34 minutes in Game 1 of the playoffs, but tailed off to 25.7 fantasy points in 39 minutes of Game 2. Factor in the 28.7, 25.5 and 30.5 fantasy points that he scored in three meetings against the Spurs from mid-March to early April, and it appears that Gasol may have an expected value around 30 against the tough Spurs defense but that he has upside to pop in any given game. On Thursday, the Grizzlies will be playing at home to avoid an 0 – 3 hole in the series, so this could be a game that favors Gasol to do well. ***

Myles Turner, IND vs CLE ($6700): Turner scored 22 fantasy points in 37 minutes in Game 2 against the Cavaliers, after turning in 31.1 fantasy points in 32 minutes in his playoffs debut. The rookie naturally has some volatility to his game so early in his career, and his third recent data point against the Cavs was 18.6 fantasy points in 47 minutes in early April. His expected value in Game 3 would be in the mid/low 20s based on recent history, but this will be a home game which could be important for a young player on the big stage. **

Greg Monroe, MIL vs TOR ($5900): Monroe scored 25.3 fantasy points in 22 minutes in Game 2 against the Raptors, after scoring 36 in 26 minutes in Game 1. He has now scored between 20.2 and 36 fantasy points in five straight games going back to the regular season, and throw in the 20.2 fantasy points that he scored against the Raptors in their last meeting in March and his recent history would suggest an expected value in the upper 20s of fantasy points in Game 3 with a bit of upside with it being a home game. ***

High Value C

Jonas Valanciunas, TOR at MIL ($5300): Valanciunas scored 20 fantasy points in 22 minutes in Game 2 against the Bucks, after producing 18.8 fantasy points in 24 minutes in Game 1. Throw in his 20.9 fantasy points in 21 minutes against them in their last regular season meeting in March, and it appears we have a robust pattern of expected production from Valanciunas leading up to Game 3 in the series. **

Pau Gasol, SA at MEM ($4900): Gasol scored 20 fantasy points in 30 minutes of Game 2 against the Grizzlies, after managing only 13.3 fantasy points in 25 minutes of Game 1. Looking back to their three regular season meetings in March and April, and Gasol scored 19.3, 15.8 and 29.7 fantasy points in those three outings. This gives him four games between 15 and 20 fantasy points, and one somewhat outlier near 30 to shape his expected value for Game 3. **

Tristan Thompson, CLE at IND ($4600): Thompson scored 18.5 fantasy points in 32 minutes of Game 2, after 24.1 fantasy points in 31 minutes in Game 1. This backs up his 22.8 fantasy points in 43 minutes effort against the Pacers in early April, to suggest an expected value in the low 20s of fantasy points for Thursday’s Game 3. ***
