12. Tracy McGrady

When Tracy McGrady entered the NBA out of high school and joined the Toronto Raptors, he didn’t see the floor much at all. Playing in 143 games in his first two season (while still a teenager, it should be noted), McGrady barely saw the floor for 20 minutes per night. However, he finally got his opportunity in his third season and started to show his true potential while with the Raptors. He then moved to the Orlando Magic ahead of the 2000-01 season and never looked back.

From 2000-08 with four seasons with the Magic and then four with the Houston Rockets, T-Mac was one of the most dominant forces in the entire league. He was an offensive juggernaut that was feared by everyone. However, what’s often underrated is how he could affect the game in numerous ways outside of just putting points on the board. McGrady averaged 26.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game over those eight seasons and was absolutely electric in doing so. Though his playoff resume left something to be desired, there’s no denying his prowess when he was at the peak of his powers.

McGrady is another guy that was unfortunately hit with the injury bug and saw his career ultimately get derailed as a result. One of the latest inductees into the Basketball Hall of Fame, he’s deserving of his place in Springfield and his spot at No. 12 on this list.
