30 worst NBA playoff teams of all time
22. 1984-85 Cleveland Cavaliers
Back when George Karl was a lot younger and didn’t have the ire of every player in the league, he was a young head coach on his way to success. However, he was stuck with a bad team that got in as the No. 8 seed with the 1984-85 Cleveland Cavaliers.
Led by the great World B. Free, the Cavaliers were a team with 36 wins and a residence in mediocrity. Still, that didn’t stop the team from earning their spot on the elusive list of teams that have made the playoffs at 10 games or more below a .500 record.
Impressively enough, this Cavaliers team, led by Karl, showed plenty of heart in the playoffs. They were able to snag one game away from the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics.
Every single game in this series was close and they made Boston really work for their wins. They didn’t play like a bad playoff team. They’re simply one of the worst just for the record that they ended up making the playoffs with.
