30 worst NBA playoff teams of all time
19. 1984-85 Chicago Bulls
A Chicago Bulls team with Michael Jordan on this list should almost be blasphemy. However, this was Michael Jordan as a dominant rookie with not much around him. Needless to say, the Bulls were far from a finished product and Phil Jackson hadn’t walked through the door yet.
As a rookie, Jordan instantly became one of the most dynamic players in the NBA. He managed to drag the Bulls to 38 wins and first-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks. Surprisingly, they weren’t even the last team in.
That dubious honor belonged to the Cleveland Cavaliers that year and that team is also on this list. The Bucks defeated the Bulls in four games, but there was that cool moment in Game 3 where Jordan hit the first of many game-winning shots in the playoffs.
This playoff team was a bad one but it was an early trip down the lit fuse of dynasty dynamite in Chicago. Being a bad playoff team can clearly have an upside too and this was just the beginning of many great things for the franchise.
