Marshon Lattimore

Cornerback, Ohio State Buckeyes

The Chicago Bears have to make some significant improvements in 2017, or general manager Ryan Pace and head coach John Fox are going to be hitting the unemployment line. Pace is working on his third year, and while he did a nice job in last year’s draft with the selection of Leonard Floyd among others, the results have been slow in coming. In free agency, the Bears were bold and signed quarterback Mike Glennon to a lucrative three-year deal (although it could be cut short for minimal penalty), while signing Price Amukamara to help the secondary.

Still, Amukamara is injury-prone and only has a one-year deal, making Marshon Lattimore the right choice here. Lattimore was a stud at Ohio State, and gives you both the size and speed you want out of an elite corner. Despite this class being chock full of defensive backs, it is universally believed that Lattimore rests at the top. Chicago has to improve its passing defense, which ranked 17th in yards allowed per attempt. With Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers in the division, the Bears must have a true shutdown corner, and Lattimore is their best chance at finding that.
