Keys to victory

Clippers: Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan should assume their current high levels of play, but they can’t do it all. Other Clippers players will need to make major contributions. The return of Austin Rivers will help enable his father to play Luc Richard Mbah a Moute less minutes at small forward and, in turn, make their lineups more dynamic on offense. If Paul controls the pace of the game, Jordan posts his usual double-double, and another two players step up on offense, then they should be in a good spot to win at home.

Jazz: The return of Gordon Hayward should reduce Joe Johnson’s scoring role and Joe Ingles’ distribution role. That doesn’t mean that they won’t be needed though. If Rudy Gobert is able to play at about 80% of his regular season level and exceed 20 minutes in this game again, that would be a major plus. The Jazz should look like their usual regular season squad for most of this one, but still need everyone to contribute. If the Clippers are at home with the series’ best player, it will take a total team effort to win.
