Starting pitchers

High Salary Option

Noah Syndergaard ($12,600): With Chris Sale’s start against the Yankees pushed back a day due to the weather postponement, Syndergaard becomes the runaway best option on the mound today. And as a result, his price tag will increase as well. But he’s still a must grab option, as he’ll get the struggling Braves fed to him on the day. Build around Thor.

Jon Lester ($11,600): Pittsburgh has put up a grand total of three runs over their last 18 innings and will now be tasked with overcoming Lester, whom few Pirates have had much success against. Lester could be worth top billing on the day, if you want save on Syndergaard’s price tag, and spread it around elsewhere. He’ll have an outing to justify it.

High Value Option

Carlos Martinez ($8,900): Yes, he has been wildly inconsistent this year, but there are a few things that work into his favor as a secondary arm on the day. He’ll be within the pitcher-friendly confines of Busch Stadium against the strikeout-prone Blue Jays, whom should feed into his zone attacking arsenal well. Give C-Mart another chance, as his struggles have made him remarkably cheap for his talent level.

Rank Em:

  1. Syndergaard
  2. Jon Lester ($11,600)
  3. Cole Hamels ($9,600)
  4. Bundy
  5. Carlos Martinez ($8,900)

Catcher

High Salary Option

Salvador Perez ($3,600): The Royals offense has been struggling thus far against the White Sox, but history stands on Perez’ side on Wednesday that he could provide a spark. Lifetime against Jose Quintana, Perez is hitting .333 (19-for-57) with a pair of home runs, four doubles and 8 RBI.

High Value Option

Yadier Molina ($3,300): Another matchup friendly option on the day is Molina, who has to be pumped up to see Mat Latos taking the hill for the Blue Jays. Yadi is hitting .353 lifetime (12-for-34) against the former Pirate and Padre.

Rank Em:

  1. Perez
  2. Brian McCann ($4,100)
  3. Jonathan Lucroy ($4,000)
  4. Molina
  5. Buster Posey ($3,500)
