1. Pass-first point guard

Ideally, Phoenix would take Ball at No. 2 if that’s the pick the Suns can make in the draft. Ball will pass more Fultz and certainly more than Bledsoe or Knight at the point. Ulis is a solid backup point guard coming off the bench. The problem is that he is tinier than Isaiah Thomas, who they traded away for whatever reason.

Booker is a star in the making, so it is Phoenix’s No. 1 priority to find players that will accentuate his impressive hardwood skills. He will get points for the Suns, but certainly needs help in creating shots for others and somebody willing to pick up the slack on defense.

Selfless wonders like Patrick Beverley don’t grow on trees. He’s a godsend to what the Houston Rockets want to do alongside James Harden. If Booker is going to be the focal point of this team’s offense for the future, it might be worthwhile to look at a point guard the complements him better than Eric Bledsoe does.

In a really weird way, wouldn’t a Rajon Rondo make sense in Phoenix? He’s a competitor that prefers to pass and knows how to win in crunch time. If his frustrated genius projects as a bad fit for the young Booker, maybe trading for Ricky Rubio with the Minnesota Timberwolves could work? He likes to pass and doesn’t win much. Rubio would be perfect in theory with the Suns.
