9. Mike Williams, Clemson

Don’t overthink this one, folks. As the draft approaches there is buzz that John Ross and Corey Davis are favorites to go ahead of Mike Williams.

While all three are intriguing prospects… Mike Williams is the best receiver in this draft. Here’s why: If you throw him the ball, he’ll go up and get it.

We constantly debate whether a receiver’s skill-set will carry over to the next level. When the other guy is just as fast, just as big, just as athletic.

Mike Williams is the one guy who’s answered that question over and over again on his college tape. Even when he’s covered, even when he’s got a guy draped on his back… it’s a good bet that Williams comes down with the pass. He did so 98 times for 1,361 yards and 11 scores last year.  In an NFL where there’s rarely a wide-open receiver anywhere on the field, quarterbacks love a player they can throw the ball up to with confidence.

A Julio Jones type. Or a Dez Bryant type. While Williams may not be ready to fill those lofty shoes, he can be good right away. And get there eventually.

10. Cam Robinson, Alabama

I’ll be honest: This spot really goes out to a handful of offensive linemen that are getting little to no respect in the pre-draft process.

Robinson is the best of that bunch. He has the size. The athletic ability. And the productivity to be considered an elite tackle prospect. He started every game he spend with the Crimson Tide and did so brilliantly. He should be the top linemen to come off the board in this draft. And, really, it’s never too early to take a player that you believe can become a bookend offensive tackle.
