7. St. Louis Blues

Why you should root for them: Mike Yeo winning a Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues would be hilarious (except to Minnesota Wild fans, but oh well). They’ve come close to winning in the past, but have always fell just short. After getting rid of David Backes and Troy Brouwer last offseason, the Blues are more likable. Vladimir Tarasenko is an extremely fun player to watch. Plus, listening to the media complain about how Kevin Shattenkirk (traded to the Capitals) was holding the Blues back would be great. Jake Allen would be a pretty awesome story, being benched earlier in the season to leading St. Louis to a Stanley Cup.

Why you shouldn’t: St. Louis Cardinals fans are the most arrogant fans in baseball. Sorry Blues, but you’re guilty by association. Sports fans already have to deal with cocky Cardinals fans, there’s not enough room for another Midwestern team to be arrogant. You’re also still on the hook for participating in those Scott Stevens arbitration shenanigans. They wouldn’t even appreciate the Stanley Cup anyway, as they’d just trade it to the Capitals. If that isn’t enough to turn your stomach, the Blues have the worst goal song in the NHL.
