4. Who will replace Takkarist McKinley on the defensive line?

During the 2017 NFL Draft on Thursday night, you can expect to hear the name Takkarist McKinley called at some point during the first round. McKinley is an incredibly talented defensive lineman, and the UCLA Bruins will be tasked with replacing his production in 2017. That is going to be hard to do, and while it may end up being by committee, we feel Rick Wade is going to step up and fill that role this season.

Wade was an incredible high school player, and was one of the leaders on special teams in 2016. He will move into a huge role on the defense this season, and will be joined by another huge recruit along the defensive line. Keisen Lucier-South was a five-star recruit for the Bruins, and will get every opportunity to shine during the Spring Showcase. UCLA also returns Kenny Young and Jacob Tuioti-Mariner, giving them plenty of talent up front on defense.

McKinley is going to be tough to replace, as will guys like Eddie Vanderdoes and Eli Ankou. Tuioti-Mariner and Wade will likely man the outside, which is going to be so important in a Pac-12 that is going to be very pass-happy in 2017. If the Bruins cannot get after the quarterback, they could be in for another four-win season no matter how many touchdown passes Rosen throws.
