Jonathan Isaac

SF/PF, Florida State

Lottery odds: 25.0 percent

Draft status: In with an agent

The Boston Celtics have shown a willingness to be patient and snagging the best player available here will require some of that. Florida State’s Jonathan Isaac is a 6-foot-11 combo forward who would be an interesting long-term solution for the Celtics at the power forward spot, but needs to add some strength in order to compete at the NBA level.

At worst, Isaac fits the profile of an elite role-player. Offensively, he’s a solid 3-point shooter who can help spread the floor — another thing the Celtics could desperately use in some lineups. Isaac was a low usage player at Florida State and may continue to be so in the NBA if he doesn’t develop more creation skills. The 19-year old’s size and length offers a ton of defensive potential. He averaged 2.3 blocks and 1.8 steals per 40 minutes as a freshman. His rim protection could eventually pair up nicely on the interior with Al Horford.

At his best, Isaac will develop into more of a creator. He was passive at Florida State, but occasionally showed signs of being capable of more on the offensive end. If he can get his own shot, his value will skyrocket.
