Deshaun Watson

QB, Clemson

The Houston Texans made arguably the biggest move of the offseason last year, signing quarterback Brock Osweiler to a huge free agent contract. Well, that investment certainly did not pay off, and Osweiler is currently a member of the Cleveland Browns. With the No. 25 pick in round one, we like the Texans to grab a quarterback, and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson may be a perfect fit for them.

While Watson would probably like to go a lot earlier in this draft, being selected at No. 25 may give him the best chance to start right away. The Texans plan to go with Tom Savage at quarterback next season, but bringing in Watson would be a much better option at the position. Watson is an absolute winner, and with the way Houston’s roster is set up, they could be a team that goes deep into the playoffs in 2017.

The Texans defense is loaded, and last year, ranked as the best in all of football. They cannot afford another year of shoddy quarterback play, and while Savage may be serviceable, he certainly is not a guy who can lead them to the Super Bowl. Watson has shown he plays his best football in the biggest games, and while falling to No. 25 may be embarrassing, it just may reap the biggest reward in the long run.
