Chidobe Awuzie

Cornerback, Colorado

This is another great fit, and a high upside shot. Awuzie has great size and was a stand out in a great Colorado pass defense. What is great about Awuzie is that he has experience playing on the outside and the slot. He is big enough to face off with bigger body receivers, but his best game may come in the slot.

He is great at blitzing off of the edge and his ability to tackle is what makes him stand out from a lot of the other long and athletic cornerbacks. With Anthony Brown and Nolan Carroll as the only real viable cornerback options on the team, this is obvious and a great value picks in that regard. Awuzie is the only one of the three with real slot experience and there is a chance to start out there.

While they did address the position later with Jourdan Lewis, Lewis has some off of the field questions. If he is on the field, they have found a great fit with Awuzie. Lewis has slot size with outside capabilities and Awuzie has outside size with slot capabilities. With Byron Jones, who is another versatile defensive back, the Cowboys can mix and match coverages, and really will have a positionless type of secondary.
