Quincy Wilson

Cornerback, Florida

The Colts again sat back, and in a deep cornerback class got one with great size and ball skills. Wilson is a physically imposing cornerback. He is not afraid to play close to the line of scrimmage and put his hands on you. He has great size, length and athleticism to keep up with any type of cornerback and it gives him a high upside. On top of all of that, he has great ball skills and a knack for reading the quarterback.

While it being a loaded cornerback class did push Wilson down this far, there are some reasons as to why as well. Wilson is not much of a tackler right now. He has some effort but is known to miss. He also doesn’t have a great hip turn or deep speed. Putting him with Hooker is a great fit, and giving him a veteran in Vontae Davis makes this almost a perfect fit and a steal at pick 46.

The Colts needed cornerback help in the worst way as their roster is bare behind Davis. Davis dealt with injury last season, and behind him, they came into the draft weekend with Chris Milton, Rashaan Melvin, and Darius Butler as their depth behind Davis. Wilson has the potential to start right away and gives this defense another piece of the overhaul.
