Toyota Owners 400 starting grid: Starting lineup for NASCAR from Richmond
Will a shakeup in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series lineup lead to a new Richmond winner? Here’s the complete starting grid for the Toyota Owners 400.
The starting grid for Sunday’s Toyota Owners 400 looks a bit different than the usual Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starting lineup fans have seen so far in the 2017 season. Will that produce different race results, too?
Matt Kenseth will lead the field to green at Richmond International Raceway, building on his strong performance in last week’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. And the always reliable Martin Truex Jr. will start third.
But some of the normal front-runners aren’t running in the front. Joey Logano will start fifth while teammate Brad Keselowski is 15th. And current points leaders Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott are in 18th and 14th respectively. So will this be the weekend that others gain ground, or can the young guns drive their way back up front to hold their spots in the championship?
And Austin Dillon will start the Toyota Owners 400 from the rear after he failed inspection five separate times on Friday. That’s not how you want to go into a race at all.
Below is the complete starting grid for the 2017 Toyota Owners 400:
