Mitch Hyatt

OT, Clemson

The Los Angeles Chargers had a solid 2017 NFL Draft, bringing in some players that should help right away. Star wide receiver Keenan Allen cannot seem to stay on the field, so the Bolts picked up Clemson wideout Mike Williams with their first round pick. Their next two picks bolstered their offensive line, as they got arguably the best two guards in the draft in Forrest Lamp and Dan Feeney.

In 2018, the Chargers should look to add another Clemson product in the first round, but this time make it an offensive tackle. Mitch Hyatt has been an absolute star since arriving on campus, and should leave early after the 2017 college football season. He would be the left tackle that quarterback Philip Rivers has been waiting years for, giving the Chargers an incredibly young, and talented offensive line.

The Chargers play in one of the deepest divisions in football, but have made some nice moves this offseason. While Rivers plans to play for the next few seasons, his protection has been shoddy in recent years, so it was nice to see the team grab a bunch of offensive linemen in this draft class. Hyatt would be a plug-and-play offensive tackle, and with the weapons the Chargers have brought in as so late, this team could be at the top of the AFC West in a year or two.
