Harold Landry

DE, Boston College

For years, the Indianapolis Colts were the class of the AFC South, and it looked like they would walk into the playoffs every seasons. However, there has been a changing of the guard in the division, as the Houston Texans and their top-ranked defense has won the division the last two seasons. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been struggling with a injury to his shoulder the last two seasons, and after offseason surgery, appears ready to lead this team back to postseason play in 2017.

During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Colts actually made some moves that make sense, bolstering their defense with their top three picks. They utilized their first and second round picks to bring in solid defensive backs, drafting Ohio State safety Malik Hooker and Florida cornerback Quincy Wilson. In the third round, they selected Ohio defensive end Tarell Basham, giving them some more depth along the defensive line.

While Basham is solid, the Colts should bring in another defensive end with their first round pick in 2018. Harold Landry from Boston College is a freak of an athlete, and would give the Colts their best pass rusher since Dwight Freeney. Landry set the Boston College single-season record with 16.5 sacks in 2017, and also led the country with seven forced fumbles. He is going to be an electric player at the next level, and the Colts need that kind of talent on that side of the ball.
