Malik Jefferson

LB, Texas

Outside of the Chicago Bears, there may not have been another team who had a more questionable 2017 NFL Draft than the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals reached with their first round pick, taking Washington wide receiver John Ross No. 9 overall, before taking troubled Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon in the second. Cincinnati needed to get better on defense, and they failed to address that need with their top two picks.

The Bengals finally took a defensive player in the third round, selecting outside linebacker Jordan Willis from Kansas State. He is a nice player, but they probably could have gotten him a round or two later. With their first round pick in 2018, they better look defense, and Malik Jefferson would be a perfect fit in Cincinnati.

Jefferson is a do-everything linebacker for the Texas Longhorns, who was named as a semifinalist for the Butkus Award last season. He has been an elite player for the Longhorns since being named a Freshman All-American back in 2015, and was once considered the best linebacker in the country during his time at Poteet (TX) High School. Jefferson is also an Honor Roll student, so you are not only getting a great player, but also someone who could become the quarterback of your defense.
