Da'Ron Payne

DT, Alabama

The Tennessee Titans had one of the best drafts of any team in the NFL this past weekend, filling a ton of holes on their roster. Already considered a playoff team in 2017, the Titans held on to both of their first round picks, bringing in a wide receiver and cornerback with their selections. Wide receiver Corey Davis is going to be an absolute stud in the league, and cornerback Adoree’ Jackson was one of the more versatile players in college football during his time with the USC Trojans.

With their first round pick in 2018, look for the Titans to do something about bulking up their defensive line. Their roster is pretty stacked on both sides of the ball, but bringing in a quality defensive tackle would really help them in a division that likes to put up points in bunches. They need to be able to stop the run, and Da’Ron Payne of Alabama does that better than most people in this draft class.

Payne has played a huge role in the Crimson Tides’ incredible run these past few years, and will head to the NFL as a guy who can play all over the defensive line. He was one of the best defensive line prospects in the country during his time at Shades Valley (AL) High School, and has not slowed down since arriving on campus. He will likely leave early after next season, and the Titans will be there to grab him late in the first round.
