1. A new general manager

Shortly after their 2016-17 NBA season came to an end, the Magic went back to the drawing board, or the infamous whiteboard in this case. The leaked information of the Magic’s supposed offseason plans was certainly an embarrassing moment for the organization, likely costing general manager Rob Hennigan his job (on top of the losing).

Before Orlando decides to do anything, the Magic will first need to land a new general manager. While Matt Lloyd steers the ship in the interim, finding Hennigan’s replacement won’t be easy. Orlando has not had a strong track record of late in drafting and developing talent. They’ve gone through coaches at an alarming rate.

Though getting to work in the Sunshine State near Mickey Mouse with no income tax would be appealing, the Magic organization has never been in a worst state of disarray. No, they aren’t quite a dead franchise like the New York Knicks, but it will take one brave soul to rebuild this basketball club.

A few names that could be in consideration for the gig could be Los Angeles Clippers head coach and president of basketball operations Doc Rivers, former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie or even Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin.

Whomever takes the reigns in Orlando must be ready for a bumpy ride. Getting the Magic back to good is a tall order. It will take a series of well-executed drafts, a marquee free agent signing or two and above all a great stroke of luck. Most importantly, this new front office executive needs to be on board with Vogel being the head coach for the next few years. Otherwise, say hello to the Lake Buena Vista Kings.
