DraftKings Daily Picks: Fantasy baseball lineup – May 2
Starting Pitchers
High Salary Pitchers
Chris Sale ($12,500): Sale represents the top option on the board today in a pairing against an Orioles team that is high on power, but can also be suceptible to a healthy number of swings and misses as well. That amplifies the value of the always strong Sale to an even higher level, as he carries a four-game streak of double digit strikeouts into the day.
Masahiro Tanaka ($9,800): The Yankee ace has been confounding of late on the hill, and has allowed a single earned run in his last 16 innings. Corey Kluber also represents a nice buy today, as does Jon Lester in what could be a great pairing against the Phillies. But look a bit further down and consider Tanaka, who will get a Blue Jay team he has had a solid track record against (6-3, 2.34 career ERA).
High Value Pitchers
Ervin Santana ($7,600): He is as good as his numbers (4-0, 0.77 ERA over 35 innings) suggest? Well no. And does he carry a high possibility of being a bubble burst candidate in the near future? Probably so. However, today’s pairing against the struggling A’s at home doesn’t look to be the day.
Rank Em:
- Sale
- Jon Lester ($10,600)
- Corey Kluber ($11,600)
- James Paxton ($9,200)
- Santana

Catcher
High Salary Option
Buster Posey ($3,700): The day brings Posey a nice showdown against Alex Wood, a southpaw whom Posey has a nice record against lifetime (.444 avg, 3 RBI). The Giants backstop has looked to have put the minor downswing that he went through offensively last year behind him, and is locked in this year. Get him in there.
High Value Option
Matt Wieters ($3,200): It was interesting to see Wieters so far down the board on the day, as he gets an intriguing draw against Taijuan Walker on the day. The switch-hitting catcher could be a steal down the boards, and has hit 3 home runs over his last 10 games.
Rank Em:
- Posey
- Willson Contreras ($3,600)
- J.T. Realmuto ($3,500)
- Wieters
- Salvador Perez ($3,200)
