3. Retain Joe Ingles at reasonable rate

Joe Ingles enters the market as a restricted free agent this summer. That means Utah has the ability to match any offer from another team in order to keep Ingles. I’m not sure what the market is going to be for Ingles but the cost to keep him is definitely going to go up.

Ingles has the ability to make it splash from deep. His 3-point percentage this year of 44.1 was good enough for third-best in the NBA. The most underrated part of his game is how well he can finish at the rim when he attacks the basket, or find open shooters.

Ingles, 29, also is an intriguing player to watch from the defensive end. The 6-foot-8 Aussie, has the size to lock down guards, and enough strength to hold his own against power forwards. Ingles has proven he is not overmatched by quicker guards, making him a versatile defender that can switch on pick-and-rolls.

With so many potential free agents available, it’s hard to imagine Ingles landing a potential mega offer from another team. Teams around the league do covet shooting; however, so the Jazz may have to overpay to retain his services.
