Predicting where top 5 uncommitted 2018 college football QB commits will land
1. Tanner McKee
The No.1 quarterback who is still left on the board is Tanner McKee. Surprisingly enough, he is a pro-style quarterback who has his eye on some different programs.
McKee is from Centennial High School in Corona, California. He is a four-star recruit who is the No. 74 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the nation.
The offers have flown in for McKee. He continues to be a hot commodity with 21 scholarship offers from a wide range of programs spanning from the east coast to the west coast. But, where 247Sports projects him to commit might surprise some people.
Right now, the Stanford Cardinal are the leaders for McKee’s commitment. They are up in the top two with BYU. This is surprising on the surface because these two programs don’t usually pull in top quarterback talent in the recruiting world. But, when you look at McKee’s academics, these two options make sense.
According to McKee’s Twitter page, he carries a 4.2 GPA, which is insane for a regular person who doesn’t play a sport. But, being a top-level quarterback with that type of GPA, no wonder he probably wants to go to Stanford.
There are a few other programs also vying for McKee’s commitment. He recently visited the Duke Blue Devils and they offered him a scholarship on the visit as well. This would be another academic choice for McKee and he could also be a huge boost to the Duke program.
McKee has also visited Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M recently. All three of these programs would love to have a quarterback who has the features of a veteran in the NFL. They are all three football powerhouses as well.
