5 players who should have been on Madden 18 cover
By John Buhler
This is embarrassing. How on Planet Earth has the best quarterbacking talent in the form of Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers not been on the cover of Madden? He may not win another Super Bowl because free agency is not copacetic with the way Green Bay does things in the offseason, but Rodgers is still a delight to watch go to work.
He nearly took an also-ran Packers team in 2016 to the Super Bowl. That Atlanta buzz saw wasn’t fun for Packers fans to watch, but the Run the Table Packers will go down as one of the best non-Super Bowl winning seasons in Wisconsin. If you didn’t fall in love with Rodgers’ game that season, you never will.
Of course Rodgers would get a 99 Madden rating during the season he graces the cover. His combination of arm strength, mobility, accuracy and ad-libbing would make him the best quarterback to play with in Madden history since 2004 Atlanta Falcons Michael Vick.
Green Bay is one of the few teams with a truly national following. Putting Rodgers on the cover would amplify Madden 18 sales considerably. Every cheesehead would either have a copy of Madden 18 or could get one easier than a can of Coke at a convenience store.
