The Verizon IndyCar Series comes home on Saturday for the IndyCar Grand Prix, the first of two races at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Team Penske is hoping that it will be their second victory of the 2017 season.

Penske’s Will Power set a new track record when he captured the pole position for Saturday’s race and his third Verizon P1 Award of the year. But Power hasn’t been able to follow his fast qualifying laps with race wins thanks to a series of crashes and technical problems, and will be driving hard in the IndyCar Grand Prix to break that streak of bad luck.

Meanwhile, his teammate Simon Pagenaud is the new IndyCar points leader as well as the winner of last year’s contest on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, and will hope to add to his accomplishments by making it two in a row. Pagenaud will have his work cut out for him as he was the lowest qualifying of the Penske cars, but since when has that ever stopped the 2016 IndyCar champion?

Or could someone else, like the always contending Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing, show up and spoil the Penske party in IndyCar’s return to Indianapolis? Anything is possible and everyone has something to prove, so don’t miss the racing action that will officially kick off the Month of May.
