The NBA draft lottery is on Tuesday, May 16 and this may decide the futures for each team involved.

Tuesday. May 16. Be there or be square. Every team that missed the playoffs will be watching and waiting to see where they fall in the draft.

Some teams tanked their way through the season and their whole span of 82 games comes down to this one moment. The Phoenix Suns, for example, have a 19.9 percent chance to win the top pick in the draft after losing a majority of their games.

One team to look out for is the Los Angles Lakers. While they have a 46.9 percent chance to win a pick inside the top three, the Philadelphia 76ers are close behind them with a 37.8 percent chance to win a top three selection. The interesting dynamic of the situation is that if the Lakers fall out of the top three, the Sixers gain the rights to their pick. Hypothetically, the Sixers could have the third and the fourth pick in this years’ draft which is crazy to think about.

Each respective team has chosen their candidate to represent them at the lottery presentation. The representatives are usually the owner (Wyc Grousbeck), a future franchise player (Joel Embiid), or a player with important significance to a franchise’s history (Alonzo Mourning).

Now, let’s get into who is representing which team.

Boston Celtics: Wyc Grousbeck

Phoenix Suns: Devin Booker

Los Angeles Lakers: Ervin “Magic” Johnson

Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid

Orlando Magic: Frank Vogel

Minnesota Timberwolves: Andrew Wiggins

New York Knicks: Walt Frazier

Sacramento Kings: Dave Joerger

Dallas Mavericks: Michael Finley

Charlotte Hornets: Rich Cho

Detroit Pistons: Jeff Bower

Denver Nuggets: Gary Harris

Miami Heat: Alonzo Mourning

New Orleans: Alvin Gentry
