OG Anunoby

SF/PF, Indiana

Draft status: In with an agent

The Denver Nuggets stayed put at No. 13 on Tuesday night meaning they’ll have to look to find a rotation piece late in the lottery come draft day. One option is Indiana forward OG Anunoby, a 6-foot-8 wing with the potential to guard multiple possessions, but a highly unrefined offensive game.

Anunoby measured with a 7-foot-2 wingspan at the combine, far from the 7-foot-6 that was rumored for him prior to the event, but he still has all the length you’d want out of a prospect who is projected to be such a versatile defender. Anunoby also clocked in at a healthy 232 pounds and should be able to handle the physical demands of the NBA assuming his knee recovers fully from the ACL injury he suffered in January. As a sophomore, Anunoby was averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks and 2.1 steals per 40 minutes prior to being lost for the season.

On offense, though, Anunoby is a significant work in progress. He lacks the shooting touch to be a traditional 3-and-D option with most of his points coming on energy buckets like offensive rebounds. With some practice, he might be an interesting roll man option or someone who can play out of the short corner, but for now he’ll be a question mark.
