Atlanta Braves 16-21

Last week: 5-1
Last rank: 28

After a disappointing start to the month of May, the Braves have been taking out their frustrations on the Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays this week. The heart of their order, Freddie Freeman, Nick Markakis, and Matt Kemp, continue to rake. Now, can Dansby Swanson heat up?

The three players mentioned above have carried the offense for the Braves, with very occasional contributions from the rest of the order. If the Braves can get a few more big hits from Swanson and Ender Inciarte, they will have some fun offensive games all season. With a dismal starting pitching staff and a ballpark that is shaping up to be a hitter’s paradise, you won’t be able to say the Braves aren’t entertaining.

San Francisco Giants 17-25

Last week: 5-2
Last rank: 30

Look at the Giants go! Getting closer to .500 after winning five straight heading into their Wednesday appointment with Clayton Kershaw. That streak ended after Kershaw went seven shutout innings, but positive vibes for the Giants after a good week of baseball.

San Francisco is getting Mark Melancon back this week, but lost Hunter Pence yet again. The big story of the month of May has been the return of Buster Posey. The MVP catcher is hitting .378 on the year and has seven home runs and 11 RBI. That will have to continue for the Giants.
