The Minnesota Vikings went into last season with Adrian Peterson as their starting running back, but a lot has changed since then. Not only did the team let Peterson walk, but they spent some good money to bring in Latavius Murray to be their feature back in 2017. Then, the team added more depth to the backfield by drafting Dalvin Cook out of Florida State, who many believed was the best back in the draft.

With a crowded backfield, the Vikings can afford to let Jerick McKinnon go, who saw some good time last season with Peterson on the shelf for most of the season due to injury. The Redskins definitely need help in the backfield, and McKinnon would be a nice addition to a unit that features Robert Kelly and Chris Thompson. The Skins also used a draft pick on Samaje Perine, a strong running back out of Oklahoma.

In return, the Vikings could get a player that can really help them up front. Ty Nsdkhe is a good looking offensive tackle, who would provide depth on a thin Vikings offensive line. Protecting Sam Bradford has to be a priority this season, as the former Oklahoma Sooner has to prove he can be durable on a consistent basis during  his time in the NFL.

Both teams win with this trade, and with so many holes in Washington, McKinnon would be a welcome addition to the backfield. The Vikings should find themselves fighting for a playoff spot in 2017, and any time you can add a quality offensive lineman, you have to make that trade.
