Raiders Get
Linebacker Jay Elliott
Packers Get
Running Back DeAndre Washington

The Oakland Raiders looked destined to make a serious run in the AFC Playoffs last season, winning 12 games during the regular season. However, they were given a death blow in their Week 16 victory at home over the Indianapolis Colts, when star quarterback Derek Carr broke his leg. They head into this season as a favorite to win the AFC West, but they are going to have to navigate a tough schedule to do so.

One of the biggest offseason acquisitions for the team was running back Marshawn Lynch, who came out of retirement to join his hometown team. With a handful of running backs already on the roster, the Silver and Black can afford to move one to bolster their defense. The likely choice would be DeAndre Washington, who showed flashes of his potential during his rookie season in 2016.

A team in need of running back help is the Green Bay Packers, who could definitely find a spot for Washington in their backfield. In exchange, the Packers could afford to move linebacker Jay Elliott, who figures to be behind rookie Vince Biegel once he comes back from a broken foot. Elliott would add depth to one of the weaknesses on the Raiders roster, and they would not have to give up much to get him.

Oakland is going to be good next season, but they are only going to go as far as their defense will let them. Linebacker play is definitely an issue, but Elliott is good enough to make a difference, and would be given every opportunity to shine with Raiders if this trade became a reality.
